eBay Toko Shinoda 1913 – 2021 Unframed Japanese Lithograph Print with hand added gold, and black brush strokes Title: Silent Moon Edition Number: 22/35 Year : 2003 Sheet size: 28″ H X 21″ L Condition: Pristine Signed: in pencil by Toko Shinoda An iconic Shinoda composition done with grace and simplicity. This was completed shortly before she stopped making prints. Shinoda’s work complements any decor and adds beauty to any space – it would be right at home in modern settings as well as among antiquities. Sadly Shinoda-san died in March of 2021 and the age of 107. She stopped making prints in 2007. All prints were purchased from the publisher in Japan and guaranteed authentic. They have been carefully stored, handled minimally and come from a pristine, smoke-free environment. We take great care and use museum packing for all our shipments which are sent by express mail, fully insured. Returns will be accepted provided the print is returned in the same salable condition. About the Artist Toko Shinoda was undoubtedly one of Japan’s leading, living artists. Her international acclaim is based on her dynamic calligraphy, sumi ink paintings and lithographs. She is one of the foremost calligraphers, painters and print makers in Japan. Shinoda-san is the master of an intricate manner of writing tracing back 3000 years. She adds strokes of color to each composition by hand and uses red, blue or gold sumi inks that are 300 to 500 years old. Shinoda’s works are in the National Museum of Modern Art – NewYork, the Guggenheim Museum – New York, the British Museum – London, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Singapore Museum, Brooklyn Museum, Cincinnati Art Museum, the Rockefeller and Ford foundation collections. Her 28 meter mural is in the Zojoji Temple in Tokyo and another large piece is in the Japanese Embassy in Washington D.C
