ITEM DESCRIPTION: PLEASE READ THE FULL DESCRIPTION SO YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE BUYING. This is a very nice “The Ultimate Soldier“ Series F-104C/G Starfighter Jet from 21st Century Toys, in excellent used condition. This is one of the most valuable and sought-after F-104 versions with the Vietnam War Camo Paint Scheme. This is a big model in 1:18th scale and is probably the most colorful of the F-104 versions from The Ultimate Soldier series. Manufactured in 2005. Includes Pilot Action Figure with helmet, parachute, and oxygen mask/air hose, extra rubber nose pitot tube, a pair of externally mounted AIM-9 Sidewinder Missiles on a ventral centerline launch rack, and original instruction sheet. Unfortunately, I don’t have the original box or other packaging. I am the original owner of this beautiful aircraft model. After I purchased it new, I put it on display in my office for a little while. Then I packed it up carefully and it’s been in storage ever since. This model will be shipped disassembled in an oversize box, with all parts individually bagged and bubble wrapped. This F-104C/G Starfighter is generally in excellent near-new condition, but it does have a few minor repairable issues, as shown in the photos and which I will describe here in detail: Issue #1: The Sidewinder missile launch rack connects to the lower fuselage with three small tabs. One of these tabs has cracked off (see red arrows in photos). The missile launch rack still attaches snuggly to the lower fuselage holes with the two remaining tabs. Issue #2: The base of the rigid pitot tube has cracked off, and is stuck in the nose of the aircraft. I didn’t want to risk damaging the nose by trying to remove the small cracked-off piece. I used some black vinyl tubing to make a temporary repair and attach the pitot tube to the nose (see red arrows in photos). Note that custom 3D resin printed replacement pitot tubes are available for this model online. Issue #3: A small piece has cracked-off of the main landing gear on one side, right where it connects to the aircraft and allows the landing gear to pivot. The broken piece is included (see red arrows in photos). If you handle the landing gear carefully, you can still put it up and down and it will hold the weight of the aircraft. Even if this piece was not damaged, I strongly recommend that you don’t display this model sitting on the landing gear, as it is not really sturdy enough for this purpose. Beyond these three issues, this model is in excellent very clean near-new overall condition with all moving parts working properly.
