The quality craftsmanship is only matched by the quality of the materials used to make this Judith Leiber keychain. Judith Leiber designed a beautiful keychain for her collection. This keychain was made by top artisans in Italy. The solid construction of the keychain is evident. Sold ‘As Is’. Shipping is included via USPS First Class Mail. Collectors’ Alert: Extremely Hard to Find and Highly Collectible Vintage Judith Leiber Semi-Precious Stones Keychain in Very Good to Excellent Condition. Condition: This Judith Leiber vintage keychain with semi-precious stones is being listed in pre-owned very good to excellent condition. The stainless steel section has only minor scratches and the entire section which holds the keys is very solid and in great working condition. The gold-toned and silver metallic rope section is beautifully designed with semi-precious stones and it is in very good overall condition. The gold-toned and silver metal is also very solid. The semi-precious stones are different on the front and back of the gold-toned/silver section of the keychain and 3 out of the 4 stones are in excellent condition. It is not clear but the cloudy white stone which is paired with the black stone on the one side contains a faint line roughly down the middle of the stone. This may be a crack or it may be an imperfection in the stone. The Judith Leiber signature and copyright appears on the stainless key holder end of the keychain. Description: What a stunning Judith Leiber semi-precious vintage keychain which should belong to any fan of her incredible array of purses, pocketbooks, pill boxes, novelty items and, of course, keychains. Gorgeous design and solidly constructed in every way. Measurements: Width: ~ 1.75″ Length: ~ 3.50 ” Judith Leiber: Born in 1921, Judith Peto Leiber was the first female apprentice and master in the Hungarian handbag guild. She survived World War II in hiding, and met her husband Gerson, an American soldier, in the streets of Budapest when the city was liberated. After moving to the United States as a GI bride, Leiber worked as a pattern maker and then foreman for several handbag companies until she formed her own company in 1963. Initially, she and her husband were the sole employees of the company. Judith did all the designing and production while her husband made deliveries to major department stores. Judith’s first factory had four employees whom she worked alongside, teaching them her expertise. “There was such a sense of camaraderie, with all of us working together, producing these handbags,” said Judith. “I made my first line in a gray/green calf which was not that well received. Nevertheless, I was determined to make my bags as beautiful and as well as I could and not to compromise. I have never swerved from that goal. Never.” Today, her portfolio of amazing items are included in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Smithsonian Institution, The Victoria and Albert Museum and many other collections around the world. Judith Leiber’s collection is owned by Kings and Queens, Professional Athletes and the Hollywood elite. General Statement: I have been a buyer on eBay for a number of years.
