I call these ones “FOREST” A lovely deep forest green Onyx briolette is topped with a sparkling grassy green peridot and a translucent green with a tinge of blue Chrysoprase gemstone briolettein these lovely green earrings. The assorted gemstone briolettes are wire-wrapped with Sterling Silver and dangle gently from sterling silver chain and earwires. Sterling Silver ear wires are hypoallergenic. About the components of this piece: Chrysoprase~ Chrysoprase is the most prized member of the chalcedony family of quartz. It is a beautiful green translucent stone and gets its color from nickel oxide. Chrysoprase was thought of as a victory stone in the 1700’s by thieves who placed the stone in their mouth which they believed made them invisible. The name comes from the Greek word “chrysos prason,” which means gold leek. Chrysoprase is said to be a powerful stone which enhances prosperity and good fortune. Green Onyx~ Green Onyx is a green, translucent variety of quartz. Metaphysical properties: Onyx is a protective stone that assists in preventing personal energy drain, and helps to ground and eliminate unwanted energies. Peridot~ Peridot is a beautiful sparkly green gem born in the fire of volcanoes and sometimes found in meteors that have fallen from the cosmos to earth(meteors are not used for beads). It is because of its unique birth place that peridot is referred to as the volcanic gem and by native Hawaiians as Pele’s tears. Peridot is a form of olivine also known as Magnesium Iron Silicate and it’s the concentration of iron that gives Peridot its beautiful green color. Peridot ranges in color from illustrious grassy green to a deeper medium green. Peridot has been mined as a gemstone for an estimated four thousand years or more!
