The Seller is the Original Owner and received this LP as a promotional copy from the label at the time of its release. The album was visually inspected and appears to be unplayed and in excellent condition. It has a very slight bowl shape, but tracked and played okay when test played. The cover is in VG+ condition, with minimal shelf wear. The custom glossy paper inner sleeve has two seam splits (4″, 1″) Please zoom in on the provided photos to see the overall condition of this item. (Wikipedia Excerpts) Grover Washington Jr. (12/12/1943 – 12/17/1999) was an American jazz-funk and soul-jazz saxophonist and Grammy Award winner. Along with Wes Montgomery and George Benson, he is considered by many to be one of the founders of the smooth jazz genre. He wrote some of his material and later became an arranger and producer. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Washington made some of the genre’s most memorable hits, including “Mister Magic”, “Reed Seed”, “Black Frost”, “Winelight”, “Inner City Blues”, “Let it Flow (For ‘Dr. J’)”, and “The Best is Yet to Come”. In addition, he performed very frequently with other artists, including Bill Withers on “Just the Two of Us”, Patti LaBelle on “The Best Is Yet to Come”, and Phyllis Hyman on “A Sacred Kind of Love”. He is also remembered for his take on the Dave Brubeck classic “Take Five”, and for his 1996 version of “Soulful Strut”. The Seller was in the retail record business in the 1970’s-1980’s and acquired a collection of 2500+ albums from that era, which is now being sold on Ebay. Most have never (or seldom) been played. Many are white label promos, first pressings, and often factory sealed. The collection has been securely boxed and stored in a smoke free environment since 1983, 40 years! NM (NEAR MINT) – Vinyl looks as if you just got it home from a new record store and removed the shrink wrap. LP cover may have some light rub marks. VG+ (VERY GOOD PLUS) – Vinyl may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don’t affect one’s listening experience. Sleeves will have some slight wear, lightly turned corners, or a slight seam split. May have slight signs of wear also may be marred by a cut out hole, sawcut, or cut corner indicating it is a promotional copy. VG (VERY GOOD) – Vinyl has light wear, scratches, or scuffs. Covers may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached, etc. This Seller allows for combined shipping costs when multiple items are purchased in the same transaction.
