I need to clear some space on my shelves, so I have to part with some of my collection. Modelcollect is a relative newcomer to the model world but has established a fabulous reputation for innovation and quality. They initially produced some small scale finished models and later branched out into kits and larger scales. This tremendous release is the legendary B-2 Spirit that is the first operational Stealth Bomber in the world. Modelcollect has created the definitive B-2 kits in this scale with impressive detail and incredible features! I found over a dozen listings for this kit on eBay (almost all from distant overseas sellers), but as a Top Rated Plus US Seller, I have this in stock and can reliably ship this kit very quickly. Here is what I have learned about this state-of-the-art kit: The Modelcollect website has a page for this kit that shows the impressive box art and the complete Instruction Set and Painting Guide. They also give us photos of each sprue, the decals and color photo-etched metal fret. Scalemates.com shows that this is a state-of-the-art 2017 tooling. They provide a link to download the complete 29-page full-color instruction set and painting guide. show the box art and give us a few links to reviews, books and references that will be useful in your build, but not much specific information about this kit. Bill Strandberg published a superb First Look Review on the cybermodeler.com site with an in-depth analysis of the kit. Right off, he was impressed with the safe packaging of the parts. He goes on the describe the extensive detail included in the kit and provides high-resolution photos of each sprue, including the small PE fret and the large Cartograf decal sheet to back it up. His comments are helpful and at the end, he says: “Overall, a great improvement on the old Testor’s kit, with the emphasis on the interior bays (what else is there on a B-2?).” Donald Zhou posted an exhaustive In-Box Review on the modelingmadness.com site with an extensive background story on the B-2. He points out that there is no comparison of this kit to its predecessors in the level of accuracy, fit and detail. I think his conclusion speaks the loudest when he says: “Yes, the kit is good enough that getting two is now a serious consideration!” Mark delivers a fantastic Review on the britmodeller.com forum with the best images of the kit contents I have seen. He is another reviewer to heap praise on the careful packaging that Modelcollect used. He walks through the assembly and gives us suggestions and things to watch out for. He feels this kit is a home run, saying: “The detail level has been pitched just right for the average modeller, and there’s nothing too tricky to deal with, other than the large decals. Super-mega highly recommended, as it’s a monster, even at this scale!” Milan Mitev produced a complimentary In-Box Review on the archive.aeroscale.net site. There are over a dozen photos to show what you get and a lengthy narration of the abundant features of this phenomenal kit. There is a list of Pros and Cons to help you with your decision, but he is clearly a fan, saying in his Verdict: “The definite kit of choice for a model of B-2 Spirit in 1/72 scale. It will become a gigantic addition to every modeler`s collection, while the great amount of details and the numerous options to display the model will ensure amazing close-up photos.” This kit is in an enormous, sturdy box about 16.5” x 12.5” x 4”, with a great image of this legendary bomber. As you can see from the pictures, the package is pristine and still sealed with tape strips (these were never shrink wrapped from the factory), so I consider it factory sealed and absolutely gift-ready. This item contains one complete injection molded plastic model kit, with over 260 grey and clear plastic parts, a small fret of color photo etched metal parts for the instrument panels and a large sheet of Cartograf decals (designed by Two Bobs!), along with a huge instruction booklet.
